Not worth it
I have use the speakers for a while now the battery does not last long I say about 45min to an hour and had been doing that from the first time I used it I couldn’t return it because when I started using it it was a few months later so the window to return it has passed I would not recommend it to anyone.

Battery Has a 2.5 year life span. Won’t play while charging
The battery [mostly] died after 2.5 years of light-normal use. It lasts for 2 hours then takes 8 hours to charge. You can’t play it while its charging which is a serious design flaw. Hate the proprietary charger. Just make it USB-C like everything else. I guess 2.5 years is all I should expect? It seems wasteful I can’t either replace the battery or play it while its charging. I must chuck it and buy a new one or do without.

Big Sound from a Small Speaker
I chose JBL over all the other brands and bluetooth speakers that I was looking at, including the HomePod Mini from Apple and was rewarded with a speaker that I am more than pleased to have. I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker for the office that could be charged by USB-C, provide a better experience than my phone speakers, and have the sound be really soft so that others walking by my work office wouldn’t hear, and when they would enter my office, we can carry a conversation without me having to turn off my speaker. The JBL provides that experience, coupled with the iPhone to get granular volume control. Now, I can have an ambience that suits my workflow. All I have to do is fire up Apple Music, Spotify, Podcast, or my favorite radio station. Exciting part is that when I am playing my music on the phone and the JBL isn’t turned on, the moment that I do turn the speaker on, my iPhone switches the music to the speaker. It works flawlessly. As it is supposed to do! The quality of sound is representative of the JBL brand. I was concerned about the size of the speaker, but JBL did really well with providing a speaker that is competitive with all the other Bluetooth speakers – making it a no-brainer to get this one. JBL brand is important to me. My GF had a JBL speaker that she plugged into her computer in the early 2000’s (wires to each speaker, power cord, and another wire to the computer – what a mess) and I enjoyed listening to music belting out from those speakers. She is a music enthusiast and because of her experience with JBL, that is the brand that she prefers. For Christmas two years ago, I got her JBL Flip 5 to replace the older wired speakers and she absolutely loves it and I love the sound coming from it, also! How does this compare with the Flip 5? I think the Flip 5 has more bass and obviously will fill a larger room with sound. It’s great for outdoors when you have a lot of activity, noise, kids screaming, etc. The Flip 5 would have worked for my office at work, but the JBL Go 3 is actually better as it is smaller, I don’t need to have the music pumped up (although it can be loud!), and I can place it anywhere in the office, or put it in my coat pocket and bring it home for the weekend. It is more versatile. The HomePod Mini was a preferred speaker as I love the extended features. I thought long and hard about getting one for the office (I have two at home) but I just couldn’t see putting an Apple speaker in a work officer environment. I looked at all the other brands on Amazon. In the end, it was the JBL brand, the quality that I could expect (and that came true), the price (very reasonable) and the size. I am more than thrilled with my purchase. It works seamlessly with my iPhone.

Being JBL you would think it would last, Worked perfect for 3 months ,then the capacity to hold a charge became less and less, three months later, I would have to leave it plugged in to have it play, 2 weeks later it didn’t even work that way. I purchased this on name brand alone, but was not worth it.

I NEVER write reviews but I’m SO FRUSTRATED. The sound of this thing is unmatched. But now it has to be fully charged and has about a 1 hour battery life. Even if it’s plugged in. The sound quality is absolutely amazing. Im SO disappointed. Especially that I can’t return my purchase just weeks ago in late September. This seems to be a theme with Amazon and crappy companies. Grab your money and go.

Works for what I use it for, I just listen to music while doing chores or leave tunes on for my birds when I leave the house. The sound can be a tiny bit tin sounding as it is a small speaker but it sure does its job! I’m glad I don’t have to use my phone volume on max just to be able to listen to music anymore. It’s saving my phone the wear and tear.

Turns itself off
I use this as an outdoor speaker for Halloween and Christmas decorations, and the unit shuts itself off after a short period (roughly an hour). Previous speakers would stay on while the speaker receives a signal. You get what you pay for (I bought it when the previous one stopped charging- 5 years old).
