Battery life not good.
I had this speaker for around 6 months before it turned to crap. One day I turned it on and it suddenly sounded like the speaker was busted. I took it apart and everything looked okay, but no matter what I tried it sounds awful now. Would not recommend JBL. Just buy a Bose or Sony and save yourself the headache.

We bought it for our 12 year old to use with his phone and he loves it! The sound is very clear and can get pretty loud if you need it. The size allows you to take it places and with a third-party silicone case with a clip he attaches it to the paddle board when we go paddleboarding. We have not tried to see how waterproof it is.

This speaker is awesome! I set on the sink and listen while getting ready. It’s just a little box without the outside carrying case I also bought. The carrying case has a glow in the dark exterior and a strap to carry everywhere making this safer from drops and breaks, while protecting this sweet speaker!!!!!

3.5 mm input jack makes it a winner over newer models
I have a LG V60 cell phone with a QUAD DAC amplifier that only works with 3.5 mm port. Having the option to use the 3.5 mm for audio is the main reason I got the JBL GO2 and not the newer versions which don’t have the 3.5 mm port. I like that you can still use the JBL while it’s charging too. A big plus when we were on the deck for hours++ listening to music , podcast and watching videos on the laptop on the deck. Great little speaker for the price. The 3.5 mm jack was the selling point for me because I can’t take advantage of the QUAD DAC amplifier on my phone through bluetooth it needs to be through the wired 3.5 mm jack. Bluetooth works very good as well with this speaker. When watching youtube videos the audio is synced up to match the lips of the person/s talking. Overall a very well built little speaker and can handle max volume without sounding muddy or harsh abrasive sandpaper sound. Using the QUAD DAC on my phone through a 3.5 mm male to male cable is a pretty substantial sound difference in volume and quality since it takes advantage of the LG V60s (cell phone) built in QUAD DAC amplifier. Bluetooth as well sounds very good through this speaker. The 3.5 mm was the selling point for me over the newer models. Why they removed the 3.5 mm on newer models is a surprise to me. I imagine if I had the right cables and a stereo splitter I could get two JBL GO2 speakers and use them in true stereo mode utilizing the 3.5 mm jack. Having that option and bluetooth is a huge bonus for me. Also on the rare occasions blue tooth may be finicky you can always turn off blue-tooth on your device , say your laptop and just plug in the JBL GO2 to your Laptops 3.5 mm audio port and get direct sound that way with no lag guaranteed. I will say the bluetooth though on the JBL GO2 is pretty flawless with no noticeable lag. Overall a very good little speaker that puts out a respectable amount of sound.

Stopped working
I needed another speaker so I could have one for the house and one for the barn. It was awesome for a month or so then it started shutting off. I verified that it was charged, then decided to try pairing it again, it wouldn’t pair I tried everything. It’s now in my garbage can as my return window has closed. It sounded good, but honestly, my Anker sounds just as good and is a few years old.
