I’ve been raving about this product. As soon as I discovered it I bought 3. One for each of our car and one for the house. A severe storm hit and we suffered an extended power outage. However, I was so proud to have a solution to the problem of no electricity. It was great for providing light and for charging my phone- until itself lost charge. Couldn’t find any radio stations on either AM or FM for emergency notifications by the way. So! We tried charging this device after it lost battery power using the hand crank and it was a no go. Either that or you have to crank for a long long time. Disappointed….

I tried this once and the light is very bright and has a few settings. There is an alarm button that is VERY loud!! and it took forever to figure out how to shut it off. radio works nicely havent charged via solar yet but will try.

Hand Crank didn’t work.
This radio is crap. I tried for a long time to charge the battery with the hand crank and it did nothing. The radio tuning knob was too touchy. It was very hard to keep a channel tuned in. The little piece that holds the antenna down when it is not extended fell off. One good thing was that the flashlight was very bright. I returned it.

I not only use the handle but I use the sun in order to charge the battery. It does need to be charged so keep that in mind but, it does offer peace of mind. My sister and her son now have one as well.

The Solar Panel Doesn’t Work
I have tried over a week to charge the battery with the solar panel, and it hasn’t worked. I put the unit on a south facing window all day for over a week. A waist of my money and I suggest you do not buy one.

My kids go camping all the time and I didn’t read much into this but flash light, camping, radio and was like “great gift!” Kid got it out, started trying to figure it out, so I was also there trying to figure it out with him. This thing makes outgoing calls! I hit SOS thinking it was going to flash SOS with the flashlight – nope, called someone. Idk who, just panicked and said sorry and pressed 90 buttons to turn it off. My family will forever laugh at me. Still really cool, but new rule is never press SOS to try it out.
