Not the solution I expected
After spending way too much time installing this unit, here are my issues. First, I watched several dozen videos about the various mirror camera offerings before I picked this one. Because my Gladiator has adaptive cruise control, there’s a great big box right behind the rearview mirror. These mirrors with the attached cameras wouldn’t work for me. I needed one with a detached front camera. This one does and it worked fine for the front view. However, the front camera is a completely different design from the back camera. The front fits flush against the inside windshield. The back does not. At all. This is where my issues began. I wanted to mount the back cam inside against the back glass. You can’t. I was forced to place it under my tailgate against the license plate. I tried multiple different options and this was the only one that worked. Because of the distance, I had to buy an extension cable. Second issue. The front cam allows you to flip the view vertically and to swap the view left and right. The back cam does not allow for vertical swapping which seriously limits the mounting options. It only goes one way. For me, I’m going to need to glue it down because the tape won’t hold it and I’m not drilling holes in my truck. Third issue. At night with the cam showing what is behind you, it is WAY too bright. Even on the dimmest setting, at night it is like holding a cell phone up with the screen unlocked bright. Why they don’t allow the user to dim it more is beyond me. Lastly, I knew going in to it that a 12” screen was going to interfere with my sun visors. If you want to use the visor, you have to twist the mirror out of the way. What I hadn’t expected was, because I wear glasses when I drive, in order to focus on the screen, I have to tilt my head back about 30 degrees to focus. I don’t have this issue with a rearview mirror. Not the unit’s fault but it is an issue. So, knowing all this, would I buy it again? Probably not. The lack of proper dimming at night would be a deal killer for me if I had known that prior to purchase. I imagine they could correct that with a firmware update but who knows if they ever will.

There’s better cameras for the price
Out of all the dashcams that I’ve install this is one of the worst I’ve ever installed. Does not have SUPER NIGHT VISION actually night vision is horrible especially if there’s cars behind you the lights blurs everything and also if there’s no light, the camera is completely dark and you can’t see anything at all. I’ve install cameras that’s when there is low lights the screen turns grey and you’re able to see this. doesn’t do anything. Also if the sun it’s hits the camera also, you can’t see anything at all for some reason my camera is stuck in military time, and I cannot change it to proper timing. Description says the camera records 1, 3 and 5 minutes. It doesn’t max is 3 minutes. .

Too much reflection and not bright enough. While using the display I can still see my rearview reflection which seems like I see behind me with 2 views at the same time. Tried using the anti glare add on they include but then I could not see through my rear view glass when display is not in use and image is blurred and unviewable. Waste of time and money. Don’t buy

Disappointing Performance and Usability Issues
I recently purchased the AZDOME 12″ Mirror Dash Cam with high hopes, but unfortunately, it has been a letdown in several areas. Despite the 4K resolution claim, the video quality is subpar. The footage lacks clarity, especially in low-light conditions, making it difficult to capture important details. The 12″ IPS touchscreen is not as responsive as advertised. It often lags or fails to register touches, which is frustrating when trying to adjust settings or review footage on the go. The worst part is you can’t change your view from front to back on the fly, you need to do this in advance on boot settings. The installation process is more cumbersome than expected. The detached front camera design, while seemingly flexible, adds unnecessary complexity and requires precise positioning to avoid obstructed views. The GPS feature is hit-or-miss. It sometimes fails to record accurate location data, which defeats the purpose of having GPS for tracking routes and speed. The night vision capability is disappointing. The camera struggles to capture clear images in the dark, which is a critical feature for a dash cam. Overall, the AZDOME 12″ Mirror Dash Cam with 4K Detached Front Camera falls short of expectations. There are better options available in the market that offer more reliable performance and user-friendly features.

Very Easy installation, and pretty good quality cameras. User friendly interface. Daytime screen is somewhat difficult to see even at full brightness when there is a lot of sun. Overall good camera system for the money, would recommend.

Camera quality for night time is not what it says in description. Daytime quality is great but when the camera is used at night in dark areas it is very pixelated and u see screen chatter in lines across the screen.

Could use the WiFi feature and voice control would be nice, which this model doesn’t have, and daytime screen is somewhat difficult to see even at full brightness when there is a lot of sun. Florida daytime sun seems to overwhelm screen brightness, but in cloudier regions it would be fine. Overall good camera system for the money, would recommend.

The provided sd card is causing the dashcam to say “slowspeed sd card please change to another one” which seems to slow down the touch screen and the GPS mph feature is very inaccurate

Didn’t know that I needed this so badly
Bought this on recommendation from some youtube people and it’s been a life saver. I drive a large SUV and the rear has a considerable blind spot, which this camera eliminates completely. The camera quality is 5 stars, the front camera better than the rear. At night, the front camera is still amazing quality but the rear isn’t as good with bright lights shining into it. It’s good enough to see that there’s cars behind you though. This thing saved my ass when I was moving – I had my SUV piled to the ceiling with boxes so couldn’t see behind me except for the camera. because I had the camera I was able to avoid several sticky situations changing lanes in heavy traffic and was able to maneuver through a major city safely multiple times with full load. It’s also great that it’s recording while you drive, it just loops over the oldest footage and continually records (this is configurable). You can turn off the screen and use the thing as a regular mirror, or leave the screen on and just see out of the rear camera all the time (like I do). It’s kind of annoying to rig the wire for the rear camera all the way to the back of your car. I just got gorilla tape and taped the loose wires sort of out of the way, down the side of the dashboard and under the floor mats running all the way to the back. So far it’s held up well. I recommend this, and a few of my friends have bought one of these after seeing how useful it is.

Easy to install. Great concept turning your factory mirror into a dash cam your windshield is not covered with a dash cam, it goes right over your factory rear view mirror. Easy install. It comes with its own sd card an every 10 minutes or so this message pops up that says slow speed sd card please change another card. Now wouldn’t you think that if the manufacturer sent there own Ed card it should be flawless an it’s not. The camera records to the sc card just fine I get the message often. I just had this installed and used for a few days I love that the cameras on both the front and the rear is really clear and I love it but when it comes to the mirror itself it was blurry when I look at to the rear and I couldn’t see the car too well unlike my original mirror on my car , why is it like that ? IMPORTANT: Make sure you get a HIGH ENDURANCE micro SD card for this camera. Since it’s always recording so much HD footage, it will chew through a standard SD card very quickly. I’m not talking about storage, I’m talking about the actual lifespan of a SD card. So make sure whatever one you get is specifically rated for high endurance tasks (like dash cams) EDIT 5/20: I bought a high endurance SD card and this is the 3rd SD card I’ve went through in the past 4-5 weeks. This is not good and is getting expensive, my only complaint. Also if they add the ability to link to an app and download footage, that would be amazing.

I bought the Azdome PG18S to replace my older dash cam. I chose it because it was a great value for the features it had, and I’m glad I did. The dash cam was easy to install and use. The screen was large and clear. I installed the rear camera just inside the rear window, and it works just fine. The recorded videos were crisp and clear. It was a significant improvement over the old dash cam I had. I had some specific questions, I emailed Azdome, and I was surprised how fast I got a personal reply back. The technician was knowledgeable and answered all my questions and more. Overall, I think this is a great product from a great company.

This mirror dash cam can give me the wide-angle of the back view Just like the backup camera but more clear view. The most impressive is the night view Especially when I’m driving at night with low light. I still can see it very clearly. During this time there are so many crazy drivers outside. I bought this dashcam for my Toyota Prius as I wanted to record my drives – helpful in the event of an accident! Dashcam videos are also great for recording scenic travel routes! This product was extremely good- camera was high quality, recording was smooth, comes with a micro SD card, has a touchscreen to allow easy access to buttons and features, user friendly and robust. great quality, great camera and big screen
Bought this dashcam last week and installed immediately after received it. Both front and rear cameras produce high resolution videos, clear and solid. The mirror screen is huge and you can see everything clearly. I owned a different brand dashcam before, and it was only about 2.4″ for the screen size, and i found it difficult to review the videos unless you transfer and video file to the computer or other electronic devices that have bigger screen. However, with this dashcam, you can view the video without any issue. This dashcam comes with a 32GB micro-SD card, and it won’t store much video if you continuously recording while driving. It’s strongly recommended to buy a larger storage SD card. The dashcam supports maximum of 512 GB SD card. I love this dashcam and strongly recommend it.

the best dash cam, 100% works for me
I am a Uber driver. I have been looking for something simple and easy to record my driving including front and back. I found this one, It can record front and back video when I’m driving at the same time. Plus my minivan originally only have a small mirror to look back. This digital mirror gives me wide-angle vision and no more Blindspot. The only downside is to install the back camera. I need to spend one and half hours wiring and the hide the cable. The night vision is much better than I thought and pretty clear when I’m driving in no light environments. I am very happy with this dashcam. I will buy another one for my son.

Clear view!
This mirror dash cam is what you need if you want clear videos for evidence. I like how the mirror looks(or is idk) tinted because it blocks sun rays and at night it blocks another car’s headlights, meaning that you are going to be able to have a clear view behind you. It was easy to set up, I appreciate having a USB port attached to its main power connector. Cons are that I had a hard time adjusting the time because the numbers would jump anywhere and you have to slide it very slowly, yellow lights are able to reflect on the mirror. Overall it is a very good camera to record everything around you 🙂

A helpful tool for driver
I really like wide view of the dash cam. This dash cam reveals all the blind spots in a live mode. The front and back Cameras both give good quality video/ images, it helps a lot when your drive in urban area like myself. This product is really great and setting it up in my car was a piece of cake. I like the high quality pictures /videos and best thing is the split screen feature where i can see both front and rear view at same time. Still exploring all the features. Overall great product with value for purchase.

Easy to install. Size and quality of the mirror. Night vision is amazing Very easy to use and has touchscreen Also has GPS and connecting Red cable to rear light signal will show rear tracks

Amazing camera!
I was looking for different dash cams and came across this one. I have to say that it has such good quality! The camera looks amazing, I dont have a rear camera so this was exactly what I needed! It has made a huge difference! I really recommend this dash cam to anyone! Its worth what it costs! The screen is big, the image is clear and its easy to install.

Waste of time,
The media could not be loaded. Not worth the extra work in connecting the reverse wire, when you go to reverse it doesn’t do anything. You have to push the button, by doing this you can also activate the rear camera so don’t Waste your time. Good quality video tho. Check out the video.

Great dashcam with very useful feature
The media could not be loaded. This dashcam performed beyond my expectation in all way! Both the camera image quality is too good for a dashcam, night video quality is also very clear. I really like the split screen feature. The 12 inch display along with the wide angle camera gives a very good view of the rear, perfect for reverse parking. Touch sensitivity is really good and never faced and issues in navigating. Menu options are placed quite thoughtfully, easy to navigate and find every option to setup the camera quickly. I really feel its worth of every penny!
