Was nervous this wouldn’t get the job done but it did. Had my car in storage for 9 months and assumed the battery would be dead, which it was. Used this on the completely dead battery and it started instantly. I had to drive around a bit on short trips immediately after jumping it and obviously the battery hadn’t charged yet from the alternator but I whipped this thing out and it started my 2001 Toyota 4Runner 5 more times on one charge. For the price this thing is awesome.
Jump starts my vehicle sometimes works, sometimes drains from 100 to empty and does not even crank over engine. Wish I would have bought one of the bigger models with more cranking amps. If thinking of this get a bigger model if you have a v8 of any size.

My Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (285 HP V6) had been parked for the Winter and I used this jump charger to crank it up to go to the store. When I came out, the batter was dead again and the charger didn’t have enough amps to jump it a second time even though the indicator showed 75% battery life. If you use the boost feature, it takes have the batter life per jump, so you better not need more than one jump start between charges. I’d return it if it wasn’t outside the return window, but as it is I’ll just keep it fully charged and know that I only have one shot at getting the Jeep running per charge. I’d buy something else if I were you.

The boost button
When I first got it out of the box it was fully charged but by the time I tried to use it once it was half charged but I took it back inside and charged fully and the green light was sturdy and it didn’t work and then I hit the boost and boom started up my car from almost a dead battery. I almost was gonna call my insurance company to come all the way to my apartment but this little thing saved me. I had another one but I think I touched the charger clamps or something shorted out on my other one and I paid $89 for that one so I am very very happy with this one because I have tried everything!

Does What It Should
If you are reading this review – just buy this. It is priced great and does exactly what it should do. It had to be charged up for a few hours out of the box, but then was ready to go. My daughter’s car sits in a parking garage for extended periods of time and the security system drains on the battery. She keeps this in the car and has had a jump available the two times she needed it off the initial charge.

Worked great on my hybrid
I left my hybrid while working out of state for a couple of months and got home last night. Today the battery (small auxiliary 12 volt) was dead and it would not start. Found this on Amazon and got same day delivery. Seeing how small it is, I figured it could never start a car. Charged it to 100% in a couple of hours and gave it a go. Connected it and it flashed green, pushed the booster button as the manual directs and could immediately tell the hybrid system was now awake. Started the car right up and drove a half hour to charge up the battery.

Gotta have something like this or similar in your car. No need to rely on anyone else to get you out of a jam. Light weight and easily stores in trunk of the car. I have two NOCO Boost gb40, but wanted to try this since I found it on sale. No regrets. Works just as good. I’ll update if the quality and longevity is NOT the same as the NOCO Boost gb40.

It jumped started two small v8s within 5 minutes of each other
This unit is an S8 1500 amp and I’m comparing it to a NOCO gb40 1000 amp.The quality is not as good as NOCO but it’s at half the price of a NOCO and seems to do the job. I received it today it was fully charged I jumped two small V8 engines using the boost mode because the batteries was that dead and it used 25% of the charge for each time which is normal according to the manufacturer. I am now charging it back up just to have it charged back up, will update if anything is bad. One thing I would like to say is that the jump cables are smaller than the ones for NOCO these are 10 gauge and the NOCO is 8 or 6 gauge. Smaller the gauge the bigger the wire which is good. Having said that nothing got hot when I jumped these off within 5 minutes of each other not even the cables because the current it’s only going through them for a short period of time. The heavier gauge wire would allow for more current to pass through even if you didn’t have a good connection on the battery. One other thing is that the boost mode button is built into the jump cables on this unit whereas the noco is built into the main unit. The problem I see with that is that if the boost mode goes bad on the cables I have to buy new cables which is $25 and it will probably be cheaper to buy a whole new machine whereas the NOCO I spend $25 for the cables and the machine is $100 so it’s worth it. As I said the noco is all on the main machine so the convenience of seeing it there without having to look at it at weird angles is a lot easier to use the boost mode and see the light to make sure everything is right. Having said everything that I said if I was buying it for me I would probably buy this again if I was buying it for someone that I wanted to make sure it was going to be a good one and easy to use I would definitely go with the NOCO. I know and trust that brand and the quality is definitely there because I can see the difference in quality between the two machines since I own both of them.
