This tool has saved me tons of money so far! I absolutely HATE how Audi makes it difficult for anyone to work on their own vehicles. This little scanner solves many of those problems. So far I have diagnosed and fixed several issues, reset service reminders, and replaced the brakes on the Q7. Not one of those would have been possible without this tool. It has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars in just a few months!
I purchased the VD700 a few months back to do the brakes on my 2018 S4 without any problems, I also have RT Vcd’s but find it a bit complicated to use last week I had a low coolant shut down the engine warning, on my 2018 S4, I refilled the coolant, but the code stayed. The VD700 couldn’t find any faults, the car has 80k miles, I almost gave up and went to the dealer. Vcd’s immediately detected the fault, deleted the code, no problems since. I thought the VD700 could detect and erase all faults “full systems diagnostics” but that is not the case, granted I am not very knowledgeable but pretty disappointed with it

Cleared error codes, including the one preventing the automatic closing of the rear deck lid — that alone saved over going to the dealer. App (on iPhone) was workable and didn’t disconnect. It would have been nice to see “when” the errors occurred, but I’ve no idea if this is even recorded.

Worked well to reset service interval and pretty much anything else you’d like. Screen doesn’t exactly match the manual, paper or online, but upgrades are made. You can fairly easily find your way around. These tools cost hundreds not long ago. Now feasible for anyone.

I was almost hesitant to just buy VCDS that’s $60 more but this little unit is quick to connect and cycle through the menus with my Volkswagen and the special functions work well too. It’s actually much faster than I expected and at least comes with rubber padding/cover and a soft case to store it in. USB-C to charge it is a nice touch.

I only bought this to release the electronic parking brake. Used it very easily on both a 2018 Q7 and a 2021 q5 without any issues at all. Can also be used to reset the inspection due and read errors but I have yet to have any problems with the cars.. my only wish is that it would work on other makes like BMW. Not sure how much more it would cost for one that works for all mfrs.

Audi EPB and Maintenance reset 💯💯
Audi perfect. So far so good! Only tried it for 2013 Audi S4 EPB (electronic parking brake) pad change. And the annoying 10,000 mile maintenance chiming that only an expensive snap on or autel reader can reset. Even the parts shop specific “VW AUDI Electronic brake reset tool” didnt work on my car. This worked perfect! Note: it resets the oil AND maintenance together. Theres a way to only reset oil but NOT to only reset maintenance. And for the brakes I havent changed the pads yet just used the controls to wind them in and back out. It walks you through the steps on screen when to release brake, when to re-apply. No codes, and worked perfect.

Volkswagen TDI DPF Regeneration WORKS!!!!
For all of those people who are reviewing this scanner, writing that the unit will not or does not have a DPF regeneration feature that works with these cars: it will. The motors are listed under the respective power in the generic DPF functions. CJAA and other 2.0 TDIs are listed under the 103kW power. It is not easy to find, but it does exist. I was very satisfied with this scanner after it forced a DPF regen, which is what I bought it for.

Stop working
Purchased July ’24 works as designed, however on 1/25 going forward it stopped scanning my car. It connected to my car and when I hit scan it would do a 5 second complete scan and show no fault code. Normally when I’m scanning it would show scanning through all 28 modules and you would hear the modules talking to each other. Going into certain application showing error messages. I would not recommend this product. I rarely use this product!

False Advertising
Despite the company’s false claims, this device will not register a new AGM battery for a 2017 Audi Q5. I struggled with this device extensively, including conversing with ANCEL by email, trying to get this analyzer to register a new AGM battery. I even tried to identify a German made AGM battery with equivalent specs and to register that battery in the place of the American made battery that I actually put in our car, but even that effort met failure. ANCEL, there is a world of difference between having menus that claim that you can register a new battery and actually doing it! Shame on you for manufacturing false claims!!!

Don’t bother
Purchased the VD700 thinking it would be a helpful tool for doing relatively basic maintenance on my Audi Q3. It turned out to be more of a headache than anything. Right off the bat, it errors out when trying to connect to the ECU. I saw some other people said they had a similar issue and it was fixed with a firmware update. Following the instructions that ANCEL has available online, I updated the device to the most current firmware version. It’s very apparent that the software development and technical support are Chinese as there’s a lot of language discrepancies. Unfortunately the firmware update didn’t change anything and I was still unable to get the device to connect to the ECU. Out of frustration I boxed the item back up and dropped it off for return. I opted to go with a Carista EVO device instead. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with it. My advice to anyone looking at the ANCEL device is to look elsewhere.

Excellent! Reset the ‘Inspection Due’ notice on 2018 Audi Q5
Initially, what i researched and read here and there and particularly on Audi Q5 forums, left me uncertain as to whether this less-expensive OBD II scanner module was going to work, but it did! I had just had the car in for dealership service that was specific to a faulty coolant thermostat, but of course, they had no interest in resetting the ‘Inspection Due’ notice that pops up on the screen to get you to get your scheduled inspections for maintenance — even though they were happy to inspect the vehicle to recommend tire rotation, alignment and replacing motor mounts for a total of $1950. But never mind, resetting the nag notice. Done using the BD500, and will be done in the future, whenever I want.

Missing main feature
I had been looking at this for awhile as we own 3 VWs. I needed to do an oil change so I finally pulled the trigger. I changed the oil and then used the machine to reset the oil status BUT it would only change it to kilometers? I contacted their support and there is no way to reset the oil and service to miles. Just seems really odd for such a large “mile driving” market. I have not tested any other feature yet but I’m disappointed on such a basic function.

Tool did almost nothing that was advertised
This tool was nearly useless on my 2015 Audi Q5 TDI. It would not regen, or bleed the ABS pump as advertised. Don’t waste your money.

The product worked but user error
I purchased this to program the battery for a 2018 VW Passat. Youtube was no help because there weren’t any videos on how to program a battery specifically. – I was not able to find the Ah for my battery – When asked for my battery’s serial number the field required 11 digits, the serial number for my battery was over 11 – There were no additional resources for me to determine all the codes needed for my battery. My advice, if you get one of these 1 make sure you know how to use it or have someone who’s a mechanic who knows how to use it.

Simple to use. Audi Q7 has notoriously bad electronics according to mechanics. Fixes the Q7 errors that cause the car’s electronics not to be work. Allows you to reset these without taking it to Audi who then claim that there’s not a problem.. ie don’t want to fix the bad electronics and spend money on an expensive replacement.

Really user-friendly all you have to do is watch the videos online there’s tons of videos for whatever your problem may be with your Volkswagen. I had an airbag sensor error, and I needed to do my brakes The dealership wanted $850 plus tax to do my brakes and another hundred dollars to clear the airbag code so we’re easily talking over $1000 All for the little price of this tool. And some work
